Huaynaputina, 1600 (VEI 6)
Part of the list for biggest volcano eruption is the explosion of Huaynaputina in 1600. The VEI scale puts it at a level 6. The mud that flowed from its crater went all the way to the Pacific Ocean, which was 75 miles away. Like Mount Pinatubo’s pumice, the lava flow had its effects on world temperature. The ash that covered a 20 square mile portion on its west side still blankets it today.
