264-Pound Convict Grouper (Mahata)
A convict grouper was reeled in using an all-tackle fishing technique. The man who successfully fished this biggest goliath grouper out of the sea is Koji Yoshida. The fish was swimming in the waters near Yonaguni Island in the southern prefecture of Okinawa, Japan on the 25th of April, 2011. This behemoth weighed in at 264 lbs and 8 ounces. Yoshida used shad fish as bait to lure it and catch it.
