World Record Hammerhead Shark (1,280 pounds)

The world record for a hammerhead shark is 1,280 pounds. This was caught by Clyde “Bucky” Dennis from Port Charlotte, FL. He had set his mind in catching a record sized shark, and he did. He had used a live 20 pounds. Stingray for bait. Dennis was at sea when he caught the shark and radioed to friends for assistance. The battle was ferocious, and their boat was dragged 12 miles out to the Gulf of Mexico. The above hammerhead beat the old record by 289 pounds.
