Mount Pinatubo, 1991 (VEI 6)
Its strato set up means that lava and ash alternate inside this volcano. Its eruption in 1991 was among the biggest volcano eruption man has seen. It fired off volcanic pumice a cubic mile towards the sky. The ash that spewed from it rose to a height of 22 miles up the earth’s atmosphere. Winds swept the ash and pumice and covered nearby towns, cities, provinces and countries. This calamity is known to drop world temperatures by 1 degree F.
