Prince Edward Island’s Great White (weight unknown)
In 1983, David Mckendrick of Alberton caught a large female white shark off the Western Prince Edward Island. The shark was caught in McKendrick’s fishing net and was dead when it was finally pulled to the boat. The weight was not measured, as there was no weighing scale at port to measure the shark. However, it was 20 feet long (6.1 m.) and is one of two of the largest sharks ever measured in the world.
