The 1851 Sicily Tornado
A century before the Comoro tornado happened, a similar waterspout turned tornado smashed through the Italian island of Sicily and simply destroyed everything it met with such destructive force. Records of damages that happened were so inaccurate but a safe estimate on the people killed by it number to about 550. At that time, Europe had never seen a force so destructive as this. It caused one of the largest destructions in the continent’s history.
