Previous titleholder
In case you are wondering which snake held the previous official title as the world’s longest, that record belonged to Fluffy, which is also a reticulated python. It was measured in September 2009 and was officially recorded at 7.3 m or 24 feet. It died in 2010 due to an apparent tumor and she was 18 years old at the time of death. Medusa is just slightly longer than Fluffy.
