The official measurement
When the information regarding the morel mushroom went out, it ultimately got a buzz over the web. This prompted the Missouri Department of Natura Resources to immediately head into the location and officially measure the rare find. In official record, it stands at 12 inches and 13 inches in circumference. There was no official weight recording though, as it was soaking in water when the government officials arrived.
