After 40 years, the record for the largest tiger shark was broken when Kevin James Clapson landed a 1,785 pounds (810 kg.) tiger shark on March 28, 2004. He was fishing off Ulladulla, Australia. The catch broke Walter Maxwell’s IGFA record by 5 pounds.
