Woodfield Mall
This mall was opened in Schaumburg, Illinois in 1971. It’s the biggest mall in the state and it has a total area of 2,224,000 square feet, with around 300 stores, 27 million people visit here every year. This is where the biggest Sears store in the country can be found, which occupies 416,000 square feet of the mall. Other anchor stores include Nordstrom, Macy’s, Lord & Taylor, and J.C. Penney. When it was first opened, there were only 59 stores. It grew over the years, and so as the Schaumburg neighborhood. Taubman Centers developed the mall, which is now owned by Simon Property Group, Miller Capital Advisory, and CalPERS.
