680-Pound Goliath Grouper
Until this day, this world International Game Fishing Association record has not been beaten. The amazing thing is that no other grouper comes near it in size. The fish was caught on the 20th of May, 1961 off the waters of Fernandina Beach in Florida. It weighed in at 680 pounds. At that weight, it could give the strongest and biggest weightlifters a difficult time lifting it off the floor. Unfortunately, the jewfish grouper is now endangered.
