Myrtle Beach Tiger Shark (1,780 pounds)
This huge tiger shark was caught by Walter Maxwell on June 14, 1964 at the Cherry Grove Fishing Pier in Myrtle Beach, SC. It weighed 1,780 pounds and held the record for the biggest tiger shark ever caught for more than 40 years. The tiger shark can grow to lengths of 13 feet, and weigh up to 1,400 pounds.
