Frank Mundus’ 1964 Great White (4,500 pounds)
Frank Mundus is a famous sports fisherman and he is also the real-life model for the character of Quint of Jaws. It would seem that he set out to catch the biggest possible great white sharks. The shark was never measured, but Mundus reported that it weighed 4,500 pounds. From the time he put his efforts at great whites, he also pioneered innovative methods to lure and catch them.
